QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT ASK
Why have a Walk for Life? Our Walk for Life will give everyone who cares about women
and their unborn babies an opportunity to help in a very real way!! Since 1994,
we have offered friendship, hope, and practical solutions to over 2,063 women, men, and teens.
Through your efforts to raise funds for the Abel Center we will
continue to offer the following services . . . Free!!!!:
Where will we Walk? Note: The 2010 Walk will be held at 3 locations: The Abel Center in Bluefield; Princeton First Church of the Nazarene and Four Seasons YMCA in Tazewell. Just go to any one of these 3 sites -- whichever works best for you -- and enjoy the fellowship of other sponsored walkers.
How far do I have to
Walk? It's only a 2 mile walk, so all ages can
participate. You will be asking your family and friends to sponsor you with a
single, generous, tax-deductible gift for your participation in the 2 mile
event, instead of being sponsored on a per-mile basis.
Do I have to Collect
the Money, Myself? No, you do NOT have to collect the money. Turn in your pledge forms at the
Walkathon and the money will be collected through the mail. If, however, you do
collect any money, please make sure you note that on your pledge form.
How much must I Raise? There's no limit and you may be surprised how easy it is. Nine out of ten
people will say YES! The more people you ask, the more help we will be able to
provide. As soon as you reach $175 in pledges (an average of 8 sponsors), you
get a FREE Walk For
Life T-shirt (short or
long sleeved).
If I cannot be there
that Day; how can I Help? If you can't be there -- no problem! Walk any two-mile course on your own
and just mail or deliver your
pledge forms and
any money you may have collected to the address on the bottom of the pledge
sheet. Abel Center
P.O. Box 1164
Bluefield, WV 24701
What if it Rains? Bring an umbrella and walk, or drop off your sponsor forms and walk later on
your own. The Walk for Life will happen rain or shine.
Who should I ask to
Sponsor me? Simply ask everyone you know . . . "What would you give to help save a
life?" You'll be surprised at the number of people who will support your
efforts: Co-workers, relatives, family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances Out-of-town sponsors: Use your address book.
So, put on your tennies
& get ready to walk!! |
